But the bad news is this: very few traders keep a journal, very few traders know
how to keep a journal, and fewer traders yet use a journal effectively to improve
their results.

In academia we need feedback from tests and papers to improve and in the arts
and crafts or skilled trades we need feedback from journeymen who know how
to get things done the right way. Trading is no different.

We need feedback in order to achieve success.
Without feedback, we will belong slowly and may in fact make no progress at all.
 
Other than having a mentor, the feedback loop is best facilitated by keeping a journal
of your trades, that covers every aspect of every trade from inception to completion;
from set up through trigger to follow-through.
